Velo uses browser-safe direct APIs first and can fall back to your middleware when configured.
The optional middleware advertises support through GET /api/v1/capabilities and serves normalized endpoints under /api/v1/. Automatic mode uses an advertised middleware capability when available and otherwise keeps using the current direct provider.
No Swiss offline package is stored on this device.

This table is generated from Velo’s runtime country capability registry. “Global” means a browser-safe direct provider is available subject to provider and map-data coverage. “Enhanced” means at least one country-specific integration is implemented. Automatic transport can use middleware only for capabilities explicitly advertised by /api/v1/capabilities; direct access remains the fallback.
Check whether a newer Velo deployment is available.
Installing an application update or clearing the application cache does not delete locally stored bikes, destinations, routes, rides, or settings.
If Safari or an installed Home Screen app still shows an older build, clear the application cache here. Velo removes only cached application files and map tiles, then reloads from the server.
Search or tap the map to choose a destination. With a destination set, each further tap extends the route: the previous finish becomes a stop and the tapped point becomes the new finish. Choosing a search result or saved destination replaces the finish instead. Double-click the blue route to add a waypoint mid-route, or press and drag the route and release where the waypoint should go. Tap a waypoint to remove it. Tap the finish pin to remove it; the last stop becomes the finish again.
Tap the compass button to switch the main map between North up and Follow rider. Use the HUD button for the dedicated riding display with a perspective route view, maneuver guidance, elevation progress, ETA, altitude and remaining ascent.
Destinations, routes, bikes and rides are stored locally in this browser. Clearing site data removes them unless you export a GPX first.
Import GPX tracks or routes from Routes. Export the current route or ride from Settings → Rides, or use the per-item export buttons in Routes and Rides.
Official Swiss route overlays, the UK National Cycle Network, Netherlands/Belgium cycle-junction networks, Germany’s D-routes, and Austrian national/long-distance routes are visual reference layers. Under Navigation, the sights layer can be filtered by category and distance from the route. Sights are live OpenStreetMap points and may be incomplete.
Under Services, Automatic mode uses browser-safe public APIs directly and falls back to a configured Velo middleware. Direct-only and middleware-only modes are available for testing or controlled deployments.
The application shell works offline after installation. Previously viewed or explicitly cached map tiles remain available. A Swiss offline package can also retain route overlays, closures, cycling POIs and transport stops for the selected map area. Routing and live upstream updates still require a connection.
